What is Botox?
Botox is the brand name of a naturally derived, purified protein that is used to temporarily relax the facial muscles responsible for wrinkles. This results in a smoother skin and naturally rejuvenated appearance. It has been used in the cosmetic industry for over 20 years.
Am I suitable for Botox?
Most people are suitable for Botox to reduce lines and wrinkles and to help reduce underarm sweating. Treatment is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding. You should disclose any existing medical conditions at the initial consultation, for example any neuromuscular disorders (e.g. Myasthenia Gravis).
Does it hurt?
Treatment can cause some mild discomfort associated with the small needle at injection sites but is generally pain-free.
How many sessions will I need?
Anti-ageing results last between 3-6 months depending on the individual. For underarm anti-sweating treatment results last for about 6-9 months. A review appointment is arranged 2 weeks after treatment for assessment of results and to ensure you are satisfied. If at this stage a top up is required it is free of charge.
